AESTHETICS AND LIVABILITY
We have shaped our city to be
different by design and, in return, it continues to
shape us. Smithsonian Magazine has called Columbus a
"veritable museum of modern architecture." The city
is home to more than 70 buildings and pieces of
public art by internationally noted architects and
artists including I.M. Pei, Dale Chihuly, Eliel
Saarinen, John Carl Warnecke, Henry Moore, Cesar
Pelli, Harry Weese and Eero Saarinen.
According to The New York Times, Columbus, Indiana
“ just happens to have the most incredible collection
of modern architecture in the Midwest (outside of
Chicago…).”
